In the early nineties FEMONT entered into the nuclear market. As a qualified supplier Femont has put its expertise in the field of special tailor made lifting equipment at the disposal of NIRAS/ONDRAF for the waste storage and handling facilities of BELGOPROCESS in Dessel (Belgium). Femont has also developed a number of systems to equip their remote controlled overhead cranes with high precision telescopic grabs to handle waste casks. In 2011 Femont has signed a contract with AREVA NC to design and manufacture several nuclear waste handling equipment for their plant in La Hague.
